The application of fire-resistant glass: Different fire-resistant performance and fire-resistant limit fire-resistant glass should be selected according to the application site.
1、 When using fire-resistant glass walls in the fire-resistant partition areas of buildings, Class A fire-resistant glass with the same fire resistance rating as the fire-resistant partition areas should be used. When using Class C fire-resistant glass, an automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system (i.e. protective cooling system) should be installed for protection.
2、 When using fire-resistant glass walls in openings that connect the upper and lower floors of a building (such as atriums, escalators, open staircases, etc.), Class A fire-resistant glass with a fire resistance limit of not less than 1 hour should be used (fire insulation and fire integrity should not be less than 1.00 hour). When using Class C fire-resistant glass with a fire resistance limit of not less than 1 hour (fire integrity of not less than 1.00 hour), an automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system (i.e. protective cooling system) should be installed for protection.
When using fire-resistant glass walls for the enclosure components facing the pedestrian street of shops built on both sides of the covered pedestrian street, they should also comply with the above regulations.
3、 When it is difficult to install solid walls and fire-resistant eaves between the openings on the exterior walls and lower floors of buildings, Class C fire-resistant glass walls can be installed. The fire-resistant integrity of fire-resistant glass walls in high-rise buildings should not be less than 1.00 hours, and the fire-resistant integrity of fire-resistant glass walls in multi story buildings should not be less than 0.50 hours.
At present, Class A insulated fire-resistant glass can be produced for 3 hours, meeting the fire resistance limit requirement of 3 hours. But fire-resistant glass cannot replace firewalls and can only be used for partially open firewall openings.
